Not quite.

Moving into dicing has proven tougher than I thought. The sketch was pretty rough but the result was  worse than that! Decided to remove the dicing and stick with slicing this time.

Sekaido - 2013

2013 entry - F3 canvas / Acrylics

Initially setting out for a bugs-eye-view visual, missed the mark a fair bit. With a few more hours I'd like to have darken the women's facial contours a little, as the light against dark backdrop was a little harsh. But all in all, scaling up on last years work, creating 2 pieces on a right deadline, it didn't turn out half bad!

Red! (and yellow)

Again couldn't resist the red tube!

Working with the Bugs-Eye-View idea in mind, having some sharp colors to break up the thick grass or woody look is important. Lego figures, M&M's and fruits are simple to get hold of and make for great still life studies. A good chance to work on my perspective and color understandings.

Pink!

A lonely tube of pink acrylic had been lying the apartment for months, needing a good home.

Pretty happy with the result ")
