Quick attempt at the legendary glam rocker - not too happy with how it was going at this particular point so imagine I'll work over or into it at a later date.

Jon Jones - Finish
Good progress on the left side, managed to bring some texture out on the temple and cheek bone.

Really got to look into getting a little more patient on these pieces, some elements worked, others could've worked with just a little more time.

Girl portrait 3 - Finish
Decided to curb the deadline on this piece, but pleased with the different stroke effects.

Portrait two - finish
Far from perfect but definitely on the right track. There's more than a few issues, but overall building speed, technique and tonal understanding.

Tetris - color concepting
Carrying on with this weeks trials, tried using a few different brushstrokes alongside the colour variants. Overall it's become clear that in order for everything to fit together, composition is critical.

Tetris - background expansion finish
Pretty happy with the outcome. Although a lot has to do with block composition, the mixture of tones and directions with the back strokes really does bring a new dynamic to the piece.

Tetris - background expansion
Working backwards from background up is a simple but new move here. Starting with the back gave a lot more freedom in colours and movement.
Although not exactly what I was after, it does look significantly different to other more static pieces I'd been working on.
Expansion one
Working on a larger scale is opening up space for more messing with tones and shapes. Moving away from A4 is definitely a step in the right direction.
